Back in 2007, the General Assembly required the Maryland Public Service Commission (PSC) to examine electricity deregulation and its impact on consumers. The PSC found that deregulation has failed and is now waiting for policy direction from the legislature on how to reregulate. I support SB844/HB1530 because it would explicitly require that Maryland start to move back to a regulated electricity system, starting with most new power plants built in our state. Will you vote for SB 844/HB 1530 in committee and on the floor?
