ELECTIONS 2012: Maryland Issues, PM's Voting Guide and Get out the Vote
With just 12 more days to victory or catastrophe, we need every progressive knocking on doors, phoning and otherwise reaching voters to turn out at the polls. The recession and setbacks of the past decade and the 1980s pale in comparison to the Right Wing's disastrous plans to further concentrate power and wealth in the 1%. Please derive what information and inspiration you can from the following, take the actions, devote as much time and effort as you can to win these elections, and vote. As CBS's Bob Schieffer observed in concluding the last debate, "It'll make you feel big and strong."
ATTENTION ABSENTEE BALLOT VOTERS:
If you received a ballot with a missing page, call (800) 222-8683 to request a new ballot. Likewise, an error in the English-to-Spanish translation of Question 6, may cause some of the state's Spanish-speaking voters to vote the opposite of their intended vote.
Montgomery County: Vote "AGAINST" Question B, for Police Families

Vote "FOR" Ballot Questions #4: Md. Dream Act and #6: Marriage Equality
Grassroots coalition campaigns, with PM's full support, are phoning, canvassing and running ads urging voters to vote "FOR" on respective ballot Questions 4 and 6 to protect Maryland's new Marriage Equality and Dream Acts. Despite anti-immigrant and anti-gay rights forces' massive out-of-state funding for misleading, negative ads – plus dirty tricks calls – both measures enjoy majority support but each is too close to call. Passed in 2011, Maryland's new in-state tuition law, the "Maryland Dream Act," allows a specific category of students to qualify for in-state tuition at any two-year community college or four-year university in the state of Maryland regardless of their immigration status. Gonzales Research in Annapolis found that 58% of statewide voters statewide intend to vote in favor of Question 4, the ballot referendum on the DREAM Act, while only 34% oppose it. Marylanders for Marriage Equality, comprised of over 130 religious, labor and civic organizations, offers many ways to help: Weekends of Action, nightly phonebanks, One Million Conversations (contact 20 voters you know), yard signs, Adopt a Poll (1500 statewide), and a "Truth Squad" to report dirty tricks calls.
